Hillsborough Raider Boys Soccer
Community Service Initiative
Objectives:
· To
develop a sense of leadership, responsibility, service, respect, and
trustworthiness in our soccer players
· To
develop a sense of community & cohesiveness within our program
· To
improve and give back to the various communities the players are members
of
Requirements:
· Players
are strongly encouraged to take part in at least one community service
opportunity offered during the summer. To be
eligible, players may not receive any compensation (monetary or
otherwise) for their service.
· Players
are required to participate in at least 4 hours of raider Soccer
community service for that season to earn recognition at the
banquet.
· Players
are required to participate in at least 4 hours of raider Soccer
community service in their senior year to be eligible for the HHS Soccer
Club inc. scholarship. Community service
within the program
in previous years will also be considered for eligible applicants.
· Service
can begin as soon as school is finished in June and must be completed by
the end of the season prior to the end-of-season banquet.
· Upon
successful completion of the service activity, players will be awarded a
certificate of recognition and be recognized at the banquet by the
parents. Their receipt of this award will also be noted in the evening’s
program.
Service
opportunities:
emails alerting you
of service opportunities and requests for volunteers will be sent out
throughout the summer & season.
Parent volunteers will be needed to help
supervise the activities!

Important
disclaimer:
Successful completion of service in no way affects a player’s
standing within a team. It will not impact his playing time nor count
toward the team selection process in August.
