Scholarship Awards

The Hillsborough High School Soccer Booster Club will be awarding three scholarships to players on the 2009 team.  Any type of formal post high school education will be considered.  The student’s financial situation will not be a consideration. 

These scholarships will be given out at the Senior Athletic Banquet held in the Spring.

The following criteria will be considered in deciding the recipients:

1.      Must be a graduating senior.

2.      A member of the team for at least two years.

3.      The applicant must exemplify desirable qualities of behavior on and off the field; comply with school regulations; demonstrate honesty, reliability, teamwork and sportsmanship.

4.      Seen as a leader on the team by his teammates. 

5.      Involvement in community service.

6.      Academically eligible to participate in high school sports

7.      Along with this application, the applicant must submit three recommendations, only one of which can come from a coach, as well as an essay entitled, “What role soccer has played in my life and how I believe it will help me in the future.”

The application must be submitted to the board by April 1.
